18-Year-Old Girl Throws Self Off The Bridge After Playing The 'Blue Whale' Suicide Game

The "Blue Whale" suicide game made it big on the internet after it was held responsible for more that 100 suicide cases in Russia alone. The game eventually reached the other parts of the world, including Portugal, where an 18-year-old girl threw herself off a bridge onto the rail line.

Authorities warned parents about the "Blue Whale" suicide game, which made it big on social media. The game prompted the players to do absurd tasks including self-harm, staying up late, contemplate on dying and commit eventually suicide.

"We have discovered a game through the police that we feel you should be aware of," David Wright wrote, as mentioned by Essex Live. "As you already know from my previous letters, we have a duty of care for our pupils and are striving to do all we can to ensure that you are given the latest information to help safeguard our young people. It is called The Blue Whale Game and is played via many social media platforms. Players are given a master who controls them for 50 days and each day they are given a task to complete."

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian teenager threw herself off the railway bridge earlier this week and admitted that she signed up for the game, according to Daily Mail. Aside from the recent accident, there were also reports that pointed out the suicide cases linked to the Blue Whale game in Brazil and the U.K.

The paramedics said that a word "yes" was carved into the right leg of the teenager. They also found a carving on her palm with figures "F 57," which caused an alarm among parents. Reports said the teenager was recovered around 2:00 A.M. on a railway station near a popular resort.

Authorities urge parents to be keen when it comes to their children's social media activities. As for the game's founders, they are yet to be discovered.
