Brigitte Nielsen Welcomes Fifth Child Frida At 54

Brigitte Nielsen is now a mom-of-five after welcoming the new addition to her growing family, and her first child and daughter with husband Mattia Dessi.

Welcome Baby Frida

It seems there is no stopping the 54-year-old Nielsen when it comes to having more kids. Despite her age, the actress delivered a healthy baby girl on June 22. The baby weighed 5 pounds and 9 ounces.

The happy mom shared the exciting news in an exclusive interview. Nielsen said that she and Dessi have named their daughter Frida and that they have never been more in love with her.

"We are overjoyed to welcome our beautiful daughter into our lives. It's been a long road, and so worth it," the Red Sonja star tells People.

The model and actress announced her pregnancy in May in social media. She shared photos of her baby bump.

She also celebrated Father's Day with a photo of Dessi touching her growing belly.

"You'll be a great papa, Ti amo," Nielsen captioned the shot along with a heart emoji.

News about Nielsen's pregnancy shocked her friends and colleagues. Nonetheless, they were also happy for the actress. Nielsen's manager, Luigi Balduini revealed that she was very happy and excited about the new addition to her family.

Motherhood

The Cobra actress is already a mom to four sons from previous marriages. She is a mom to sons Raoul Meyer Jr., 23, and Douglas Aaron, 25, from ex-husband Raoul Meyer, to Julian Winding, 34, her child with former spouse Kasper Winding, and son Killian Marcus Gastineau, 28. Nielsen was also married to her Rocky IV costar Sylvester Stallone although they did not have a child together.

Nielsen married the 39-year-old Italian Dessi in 2006 and since then she has been vocal about wanting to expand her brood. She said in a 2008 interview that they have agreed on IVF to help them conceive.

"The children have kept me going. After I do Playboy, we want to try IVF. It's asking a lot, but if it's possible, it would make our package complete," Nielsen said.

In the same interview, the actress opened up about how her children have shown compassion during the times that she has been in and out of rehab. Nielsen's battle with alcohol addiction has affected her parenting but the kids forgave her for being a "bad mum at times."
