Wife Who Lost Wedding Ring Found It on Their 40th Anniversary, on the Same Spot

A wife, who lost wedding ring three years after marriage, finally found the missing ring. On their 40th wedding anniversary, the missing ring finally showed up on the same spot where she lost it. 

On August 28, 1980, Paula Walker and Joe got married and had been living in Plymouth, England. The 56-year-old was playing with her son in the yard one day. Suddenly, her 18-karat wedding ring flew off her finger then it vanished. 

The back of the house was a woodland

According to Good News Network, the 73-year-old husband said that the back of his house is a woodland. He thought that it was gone forever because the ring could have flown there.

Bought a new ring

The pair paid a metal detector to try to find it for two days, but they were not successful. Paula decided to buy a new ring, but she always remembered the old one. 

The family joked about the missing ring all the time. Members would always say to look for the ring when one of them would go outside to mow the lawn. Others would also say the same when they would do a bit of gardening.

Hired a landscaping crew

Paula explained that over the years, they did not find the ring. On their 40th wedding anniversary, the couple hired a landscaping crew to tidy up the garden. The wife told the story to the "Man of All Seasons" landscaping crew about her missing wedding ring.

She told the person that it was lost somewhere in the garden, but is not too hopeful of finding it because it had been gone for so long. The landscapers struck gold as they were digging up the garden. 

Looked into the same spot many times

The crew called Paula and said that they had a surprise for her. Then, they handed her the ring that she had been looking for. They found it where Paula had been playing ball with her son years ago. 

Over the years, she had looked over a dozen times in the same place but did not find the missing thing. Paula was both shocked and grateful. She felt wonderful that to finally have it back.

Hopeful in every situation

Since 1977, the couple had been living in the same house. Had they moved, they could have not found the ring they were looking for. Paula said that it was the best anniversary gift that she could have ever received. 

She said that the landscapers not only did an amazing job on the garden, but they were also treasure hunters. They made her day for finding something very essential for the past 40 years. The amazing story of the Walkers is another reminder that one should never lose hope no matter how hopeless a situation can be. 

The reason that they found the ring was because they never forgot about it nor lost hope in finding it.
