Hollywood superstar Sandra Bullock is taking an acting break to focus and spend time with her children. While promoting her latest movie, "The Lost City," Bullock announced that she would not be making movies "for a while."

The mom of two said that after working so hard in the past years, she now wants to spend 24/7 with Louis, 12, and Laila, 10. She said that she plans on spending her acting break "in the place that makes me happiest," and that means taking care of Louis and Laila's needs hands-on.

Bullock said she'll even help with her kids' social calendar, as she has done so expertly during the pandemic lockdowns. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Bullock said that her children and their friends hung out in the safety of the Hollywood superstar's home.

"All the parents know me as the crazy lady with the pandemic," Bullock shared. "They know their children will return without COVID when they've come to our house."

Who Are Sandra Bullock's Adopted Kids?

It's public knowledge that Bullock, 57, adopted her children in 2010 for Louis and 2020 for Laila. Louis was already five years old when he was legally part of the Hollywood superstar's life. On the other hand, Laila was three years old when Bullock and her older adoptive brother welcomed her. Both children are Black Americans, and Bullock is proud of her blended family.

In 2021, Bullock opened up about the challenges of raising two adopted Black children during a Red Table Talk with Jada Pinkett Smith. The actress said that the process itself was difficult, deep, and dark as she was adopting kids in the foster care system.

Bullock felt she was placed in a "judgment case" as a parent and almost gave up halfway because she had to prove she was a capable mom.

"You're put through the wringer," the actress said, per The Sun. "I had to have people write letters about my character."

Bullock also admitted that her children had triggers, especially her daughter, due to their experiences in foster care. She had to constantly assure the children that she would not disappear from their life.

As a mom, Bullock understands that these triggers and survival instincts will become a constant in her kids' life. However, she has some help instilling love and trust in the kids in long-term partner Bryan Randall, who was the photographer for one of Louis' birthday parties many years ago.

Red Carpet Debut for Sandra Bullock's Kids?

Meanwhile, the proud mom said that her children are eager to make their red-carpet debut in Hollywood, especially after being cooped at home for two years due to the pandemic. Bullock is not yet ready for Louis and Laila's public outing, but her kids joined her, albeit out of the spotlight, for the premiere of "The Lost City" with Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe, and Brad Pitt.

Laila, however, has been convincing her mom to allow her on the red carpet soon, but the superstar is firm in her decision that it's not yet the right time. Instead, she told her kids to invite some of their friends to join them at the premiere, according to InStyle.

"The Lost City" will launch on Netflix on Friday, March 25. It will be Bullock's last film for some time since her acting break will begin as soon as the promotions for the movie are done.
