NBA star Dejounte Murray gave his dad the ultimate Father's Day gift. The San Antonio Spurs point guard had been estranged from his father for several years but decided it was time to finally put aside their differences and make amends, according to KENS 5.

Murray shared an emotional video on social media of him reuniting with his father, shedding tears of joy, and hugging with family and friends, witnessing the happy moment.

Murray wrote about the reconciliation on his Instagram account, telling his followers, "We had our differences for almost 7-8 years, and I just want a relationship with my Dad before it's too late and not have one of us living with regrets of not being a man and fixing the problems we had."

Murray concluded his post with an emotional message to his father, "I love you Dad more than you will ever know and thank you for taking ownership on why you wasn't there as much as I wanted you to be as a kid but what matters is focusing on what's right and that's fixing our son/father relationship RIGHT NOW."

To make the moment sweeter for the pair, the Spurs guard gifted his dad a new truck for Father's Day and to celebrate his father's birthday, according to TMZ Sports. "Happy birthday and happy early Father's Day, and I hope you love the truck king," Murray wrote in his post.

Murray's father reacted on social media platform Twitter to what his son did for him and posted a picture of the new truck he gave him.

"Thank You, Son @DejounteMurray. I'm thankful for everything you do.... For everybody.... You have the biggest heart and patience that a man can have. Happy Father's Day Son and see you tomorrow," he wrote.

Murray was in juvenile detention ten years ago

Murray was named a first-time All-Star in the NBA this season, and there is no doubt that the young guard has been a two-way force for the San Antonio Spurs this campaign. He recorded monster averages this year, posting 21.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 9.2 assists, and 2.0 steals per game this season.

While he is now one of the top young stars in the NBA, things were not always like that for Murray. According to a report by Fadeaway World, Murray recently shared a story about how he was in juvenile detention ten years ago and was told by the guards that he would be "right back" when he told them he would change his life.

Murray is proud that he did change his life, stating that those same guards were now asking for his pictures and autograph. He has decided to make more changes in his life, looking to build a healthier relationship with his dad.
