The 3-year-old son of Rebekah Byler provided crucial information to authorities, recounting the chilling moments when a man entered their home and fatally assaulted his mother. The incident unfolded on February 26, resulting in Rebekah Byler's untimely death from gunshot wounds and severe neck injuries.

Following extensive investigations, authorities arrested Shawn Cranston, a 52-year-old individual from Corry, Pennsylvania, on March 2. Cranston now faces serious charges, including criminal homicide, criminal homicide of an unborn child, burglary, and criminal trespass.

The timeline of events leading up to the discovery of Rebekah Byler's lifeless body adds layers of complexity to the case. Julie Warner, a driver for the victim's family, recounted her movements on the day of the murder.

Warner mentioned that at approximately 8:15 a.m., she provided transportation to the victim's husband, Andy Byler, from their residence to various work sites. Upon returning to Andy Byler's home later in the day, Warner and Andy were met with the tragic scene of Rebekah Byler's untimely death.

Surveillance footage from the vicinity captured crucial moments on the day of the murder. The footage showed a red Jeep departing from Cranston's residence in the morning hours and returning later in the afternoon.

Additionally, the video footage depicted an unidentified white, bald individual at Cranston's home, handling items associated with the red Jeep.

According to official documents, Andy described an unsettling visit from a bald, white man with a white beard who arrived at their residence during the night.

The documents indicate that the man expressed interest in purchasing the house when confronted by Andy.

Furthermore, a neighbor of Rebekah Byler informed police about a suspicious incident that occurred ten days before the murder.

The neighbor reported seeing a bald, white man driving a red SUV who briefly stopped at her driveway before heading towards Rebekah Byler's house.

Another witness corroborated these accounts, confirming that they had seen Cranston's vehicle drive by ten days prior to the murder.

The witness expressed a belief that the driver's name was Shawn, aligning with the details provided in the official documents.
