'Bridget Jones' Baby' Cast News: Ed Sheeran Confirms Cameo in Renee Zellwegger Flick -- More Here!

Filming for "Bridget Jones' Baby" has been taking place in England in the last few weeks and music artist Ed Sheeran revealed Tuesday that he snagged a part in the movie. The "Thinking Out Loud" singer shared a snap from the set, showing him next to the film's lead star, Renee Zellwegger.

Ed posted the photo on his Instagram with a caption saying, "Spent the day being an actor in the new Bridget Jones movie. Loved it, you're gonna love it too. Photo by @gregwilliamsphotography @workingtitlefilms #bridgetjones and #bridgetjonesbaby"

It's not known whether Ed will be playing himself or a different character, but Mirror reported that he also earned a speaking part for "Bridget Jones." The cast and crew filmed some scenes during the singer's actual gig. "Ed was really keen to be part of the movie after granting access to film at his gig," a source revealed. "He's got experience playing himself in Home And Away and is not daunted by the prospect of starring alongside Renee."

Daily Mail reported that Ed's appearance was long rumored when a film crew was seen at his concert venue at the Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland. Renee's body double was present on the set and she was spotted sitting on the shoulders of an unidentified man in the audience.

This is not the first time the singer has dabbled in a set production as Entertainment Weekly reported Ed also appeared in the NBC comedy series "Undateable" and in the Kurt Sutter medieval drama "The Bastard Executioner" recently.

Meanwhile, "Bridget Jones' Baby" is the third installment to the "Bridget Jones" series that first ran in theaters in 2001. The first two movies were based on the book series written by Helen Fielding, but the latest adaptation will reportedly veer off from the books and will instead focus on Fielding's newspaper columns, the Telegraph reported.

A major cast change will also make the upcoming movie different from the books as Hugh Grant expressed he's not joining the third installment. The actor was in both "Bridget Jones' Diary" and "Bridget Jones' Edge of Reason" as Daniel Cleaver. "I do think that if it was just me and a girl batting our eyelids at each other in a full-out romantic comedy, I would look a little sinister and weird at the age of 54," said the Hugh.

"Grey's Anatomy" star Patrick Dempsey will fill the spot Hugh left as the other man in Bridget's life, while Colin Firth will still be playing Mark Darcy.

"Bridget Jones' Baby" has a Sept. 16, 2016 theater run.
