"Divergent: Allegiant," the first of the two-part finale in the movie adaptation of Veronica Roth's series, is expected to go through some changes. In an interview with Collider, Theo James revealed that there will be changes in the upcoming movie.
"Not huge ones," James said of the changes in the third installment. "I think they were able to consolidate all the key elements of the book."
The 31-year-old actor added that they have the luxury of time to cover the important aspects of Roth's third book, as its movie counterpart has been split into two installments, namely "The Divergent Series: Allegiant" and "The Divergent Series: Ascendant."
"I think if anything, it'll be the material in the book but then added as well there'll be more stuff because we have more time to tell the story," he shared.
In "Divergent" and "Insurgent," many fans were surprised to see that there were several key changes made in translating Roth's books to the big screens. These changes, however, were taken as a good sign that the ending of the movie will be different from the book.
Those who have read the books all the way to "Allegiant" are very well aware of the fact that Shailene Woodley's character, Beatrice 'Tris' Prior does not make it out alive. While both Roth and Woodley insisted that Tris' death was necessary, many fans continued to raise the petition to see Tris alive at the end of the movie.
Movie News Guide further noted that the recently released character posters for the "Allegiant" movie seemingly hint on the possibility that Tris will live on in the end. According to the publication, the poster highlighted Tris and Four's relationship, which gave many fans hope that their wish has been granted.
"The Divergent Series: Allegiant" opens in theatres on Mar. 18, 2016.
