BioWare's loss is Bungie Studio's gain as "Mass Effect: Andromeda" lead writer Chris Schlerf leaves the developer under highly-speculated conditions. Schlerf was the lead writer for "Halo 4" under 343 Industries took over "Halo 4" from Bungie.
Schlerf moved from 343 industries and "Halo 4 to join BioWare for "Mass Effect: Andromeda." Reports now say that Schlerf has joined Bungie to work on the "Destiny" franchise.
According to Game Rant, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" may have hit more than snag. To date, very little is yet known about the progress in the development of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" despite being announced a good long while ago. Schlerf's departure as lead writer is quite significant as it may either mean that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" development has wrapped up quietly or progress has been stalled. Although the latter seems the more likely, the former may not be far off the mark either given that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" is set for an April 2017 launch.
With Schlerf now onboard at Bungie, Game Rant says that the developer may have decided to address fan complaint over Destiny's weak narrative and plot. Schlerf may have already begun working on Destiny's sequel if not in even earlier material.
All that said, very happy to be back in Seattle, working with this scrappy little company called Bungie that some of you may have heard of.

Express reports that Bungie gave Destiny fans something to look forward to for the Taken King. Fresh content and new rewards are in the offing as earlier promised. Community manager David Dague gave the highlights of what fans can expect come Spring's majow update.
"Right now, there are hundreds of passionate people at Bungie working to turn the plan for Destiny's future into the adventures, dangerous enemies, and glittering treasures that await," Dague said. "Prior to the holiday break we mentioned a second, larger update slated for Spring. That content release will feature a significant Light increase, a bunch of new gear to earn and equip, and new challenges for PvE players seeking some more fun experiences and replayability."
