Amy Winehouse Documentary: Wins BAFTA And Grammy But Father Doesn't Like The Film Said It's One-Sided

A documentary about Amy Winehouse has won multiple awards including best music film at the Grammy's Awards and best documentary at the Home of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Although the documentary has been proven successful, Amy's father still believes that the film only showed one side of the great artist.

According to Movie News Guide, the news about the documentary, "Amy", winning the Grammys spread like wild-fire last Monday evening. The Recording Academy announced the winner in a Twitter post, ahead of the live telecast, reports the website. The documentary which is directed by Asif Kapadia and produced by James Gay-Rees was released July of last year. The documentary narrates about Amy Winehouse's career and personal life which also featured real footages of the renowned singer.

However, Amy's father doesn't take the success of the documentary to heart. According to the report, the documentary only showed one side of Amy. He recently answered the BAFTA winning with a Tweet:

The website added that Amy has won five awards during the Grammy's in 2008: Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best New Artist, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year. The report also noted that during this time, the singer was unable to attend the award's night in person because of Visa issues. However, she still performed for the show in London via satellite.

Amy passed away in 2011 at an early age of 27 due to controversial alcohol poisoning. She reportedly suffered from drug addiction years before. Amy is known for her deep expressive contralto vocals that perfectly fits soul, rhythm, blues and jazz music. Check out the trailer for "Amy" below:
