A brutal and shocking incident has rocked the small village of Krasnaya Storozhka, near Moscow, as a 15-year-old boy reportedly killed his mother after she confiscated his tablet. According to Russian authorities, the boy, who remains unnamed due to his age, struck his 48-year-old mother, Alexandra Gabbasova, repeatedly with an axe while she lay in bed. Her efforts to limit his gaming and enforce his schoolwork obligations triggered the attack.
Mother's Efforts to Limit Gaming Turn Deadly
Alexandra Gabbasova, an accountant at a local furniture factory, had become increasingly worried about her son's gaming habits. Reports suggest that the teenager spent up to 12 hours daily engrossed in online games, severely impacting his academic responsibilities.
News outlet Mash revealed that Gabbasova had confiscated her son's devices, including his phone and tablet, to redirect his focus to his studies. This act reportedly sparked the boy's violent rage, leading him to commit the gruesome murder.
Following the brutal killing, the teenager nailed his mother's bedroom door shut and displayed an alarming level of calmness. He visited a local shop to buy chocolate before returning home to play Minecraft. Reports indicate that he later used an online search engine to locate the nearest police station and turned himself in, confessing to the murder.
Details Emerge About the Attack and Teen's Behavior
According to investigators, the mother had been dead for around four hours before officers arrived at the scene. The assault, described by the Telegram channel 112, was marked by "random, chaotic" blows. Despite the brutal nature of the crime, local teachers characterized the teenager as "quiet" and "a student that studied normally," adding to the confusion and disbelief among the community.
Investigators have launched a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code, which pertains to "Murder." In Russia, criminal liability for serious offenses, including murder, begins at the age of 14.
Lawyer Yulia Fedotova told MSK1.RU that the boy could face up to 10 years in a correctional facility. Once he turned 18, he would be transferred to a general regime adult colony. During the investigation, the case may be reclassified as "murder with particular cruelty."
