Women Prefer To Snuggle Up In Bed With Pet Rather Than Partner, Survey Finds

A new survey has found out that most British women would love to snuggle up in bed with their pet cat or dog rather than their partner. The poll included 1,000 pet owners composed of men and women of the same number.

The Telegraph reported that in a survey by Gala Bingo, UK's leading bingo operator, results showed that 54 percent of British women favored cuddles from their pet over their partner. On the other hand, only 38 percent of men have admitted they love snuggling with pets rather than their other half.

The poll also found out that one out of 10 pet owners, both men and women, have more love to their pet than to their partner. It was also revealed that the pet owners spent an average of £400 a year on toys and treats. This is a bigger amount compared to the money they have spent on gifts for their partners, which has an average of £300 annually.

Christine Richards, a wife from North West London who has been married for 10 years, agreed to the recent findings, saying that she prefers cuddles with her pet Milo over her husband Bran. "If I had to pick who to cuddle up to in bed it would be Milo, hands down - Milo doesn't snore or burp, he just snuggles up and goes to sleep, not like Brian."

The recent finding is almost similar to the results of the survey commissioned by The Brooke Animal Charity in 2013. The researchers polled 2,000 women with both a pet and a male partner, and they discovered that one out of every ten respondents loves their pet more than their partner.

"Even the most perfect relationships have off-days so you can understand how women might love their pets just that little bit more after a disagreement with their partner," a spokesperson of The Brooke explained. "Perhaps a frustration for women is also that they expect less of their pets but are still rewarded with endless affection and loyalty."
