Angelina Jolie is known for many things—as a mother of six kids, an actress and director, and a United Nations special envoy. Now, she's embarking on another profession as a teacher at the London's School of Economics (LSE). She will be handling a class about women's conflict, gender rights and human rights.
The Telegraph reports that Angelina Jolie is going to teach students taking their Masters at the LSE, under the school's Centre for Women, Peace and Security. The site, which is the first of its kind around the world, was established by the actress together with William Hague, the former foreign secretary of the United Kingdom, per People.
Angeline Jolie Looking Forward To Teaching
Hauge and Angelina Jolie, who are considered as visiting professors and lecturers for LSE, first worked together in the United Nations. In 2012, they were inspired to launch the women's center after witnessing how rampant sexual violence is in war-torn regions.
In announcing her new job as a teacher, Angelina said that she's looking forward to sharing her experience with the students, especially after working with the United Nations and other government agencies to advance the rights of women. "I hope other academic institutions will follow this example," said the actress in a statement, per ABC.
How To Take Angelina Jolie's LSE Class
CNN reports that enrollment for Angelina Jolie's LSE class will start in the fall of 2016, but classes won't begin until the fall of 2017. However, LSE would like to make it clear that both Hague and Angelina Jolie can only accommodate lectures if "their schedules allow." It's likely that the Hollywood superstar would only be able to talk in class at least once in the school year.
Other visiting professors expected in the women's studies class at LSE are Jane Connors from Amnesty International Geneva and Madeleine Rees from the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. LSE is the second top ranking school in the United Kingdom when it comes to social policy and administration, per The Guardian. It is in the top 20 universities in the country overall.
