Bipolar disorder continually plagues families not only in the United States by countries around the world. Though it may not be a long-term condition, dealing with a family member diagnosed with bipolar disorder may be hard, but there are several tips on how to make things easier.

Also known as being manic depressive individuals, people who are diagnosed with bipolar disorder go through the extremes. When they're happy they would feel euphoric, but when they are sad they would go through a depressive state. The extremes are considered as manias.

People with bipolar disorder needs time to adjust, which makes it important to give them support and encouragement. As a parent, having a child with bipolar disorder can be heartbreaking, but there are several ways to make it easy for the child and the rest of the family.

According to Help Guide, people diagnosed with bipolar disorder needs space for them to recover. It can potentially be treated, but it requires patience, therapies and treatment. It also requires lifestyle change which includes a healthy diet and exercise.

Maria opened up about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Her three year old son Jimmie was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at an early age, little did she now that her symptoms would surface as well.
