'Star Trek' TV News: Comic Con 2016 Panel Will Be The Biggest Reunion Of 'Star Trek' Actors, Who's Joining?

This year is a milestone for "Star Trek" as the franchise is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Commemorations and celebrations have been taking place left and right and the San Diego Comic Con this July will be no exception.

As a "Star Trek" celebration is expected to be mounted at the world's biggest fan event, preparations are already underway. According to iO9, the "Star Trek" showcase at the Comic Con will rule the summer event, with all of the activities planned for the three-day convention.

Variety reports that the "Star Trek" panel at Comic Con 2016 will be moderated by Bryan Fuller. The latter got his career started writing for "Star Trek: Voyager" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" on TV. He is now the showrunner of the "Star Trek" TV reboot on CBS All Access, which runs in early 2017. It is expected that more details to the upcoming series will be revealed at the panel.

The "Star Trek" TV Comic Con panel will also feature different actors from the different series that ran within franchise for the last 50 years. These include Jeri Ryan from "Star Trek: Voyager," Scott Bakula from "Star Trek: Enterprise," Michael Dorn from "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Deep Space Nine," and Brent Spiner from "The Next Generation."

However, the most anticipated panel guest is William Shatner, who, for many generations, became known as Capt. James T. Kirk. Needless to say, his character is an iconic fan-favorite for many Trekkers.

The "Star Trek" TV panel at the Comic Con will take place on Saturday, July 23 at 2:00 p.m. on Hall H. However, there are a few other "Star Trek" panels between Friday and Saturday as well.

Meanwhile, there will also be an art exhibit featuring 50 artists and their inspired "Star Trek" artworks at the Comic Con. The exhibit will open from Thursday, July 21 until Saturday, July 23. Fans can also expect to take home "Star Trek" related merchandise and giveaways. Deadline has the full details.
