'The Blacklist' Season 4 Spoilers: New Season Will Reveal More Of Red's Character; Katarina Rostova's Returns Confirmed

Fans of "The Blacklist" series are very excited for the upcoming season that is sure to highlight a new set of adventures for Red (James Spader) and Liz (Megan Boone.) According to reports, "The Blacklist" Season 4 will feature more details about Red. It will help fans understand Red more.

Red is one of the mysterious, if not the most mysterious character in "The Blacklist" series. His relationship with Liz remains a mystery to everyone even after seeing both in the past three seasons. However, reports have it that "The Blacklist" Season 4 will shed us light as to why Red is behaving that way.

"That's one of the things we like about the show - trying to surprise ourselves. Once you feel like you know somebody, you realize you don't know them at all. That's certainly the benchmark with Red. He's this sort of chameleon who's always shifting and changing," "The Blacklist" EP Jon Bokenkamp told Digital Trend.

"We're getting closer and closer to understanding him, and the 'Cape May' episode was a good example of that. But he's still somewhat of an enigma to us - and that is part of what makes the show fun," Bokenkamp added.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that Lotte Verbeek a.k.a Katarina Rostova, Liz's mom will return in "The Blacklist" Season 4. Jon Bokenkamp told Entertainment Weekly that they will use picture and fragments memory of Katarina in "The Blacklist" Season 4. However, Lotte will eventually bring Katarina to life again in "Cape May."

The report notes that Lotte Verbeek will return with at least two episodes in "The Blacklist" Season 4. However, many believe that she will only appear in the flashback.

Is Katarina's return one of the factors that will make us understand Red more? Will this also shed light on Liz and Red's true relationship? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.

"The Blacklist" Season 4 returns on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
