Speculations about Nerlens Noel, the Philadelphia 76ers center, being traded during this NBA offseason is no longer a new report but the latest trade rumors claim that he is set to be part of either Brooklyn Nets or Cleveland Cavaliers. Noel was reported to be traded to Los Angeles Lakers weeks ago.
According to reports, the Cleveland Cavaliers want Noel to be part of the team as they are struggling to have a true center before the 2016-2017 NBA season starts by October. The current centers that they have are Tristan Thompson and Chris Andersen.
Philadelphia 76ers is reportedly open to Noel being traded or sophomore center Jahlil Okafor as they want to avoid frontcourt logjam for their team, Asia Starz reported. Having many players in the team is reportedly an issue for Philadelphia 76ers coach Brett Brown as they are also to welcome 2014 third overall pick Joel Embiid next season.
This means that there will be difficulties in balancing the playing time for Noel, Embiid, and Ofakor. Due to this, a trade will reportedly be taking place but it still is unclear how they will be giving up and from what team will they be welcoming the traded player.
Rumors have swirled saying that Kevin Love will be included in the package in order for Cleveland Cavaliers to get Noel. Love is a power forward but other reports claim that the trade might not include him as Philadelphia 76ers is looking for younger players such as Jordan McRae.
However, if Love will be traded to Philadelphia 76ers, he will be an asset to the team as he has great defense, Centrio Times reported.
As for Brooklyn Nets possibly acquiring Noel, it is possible says many analysts as he could play alongside Brook Lopez, Trevor Booker, Luis Scola, and Chris McCullough.
