New blessings await for Glory Johnson as the WNBA star announced that she is nine weeks pregnant with twins.
The expectant mother is very excited with her double bundle of joy as she posted a photo of the twin's ultrasound in Instagram.
Johnson shared that her pregnancy is not a surprise but was planned through IVF cycle. It was a product of hard work and dedication, which took her 15 years to achieve. The athlete felt so blessed and ecstatic upon hearing the babies' heartbeat and described it as, "the most astonishing thing I have ever heard in my entire life."
In a report from People, the athlete already hinted about her announcement when she posted a photo in her Instagram with words that read "BIG NEWS" and captioned it with "Coming soon!!!" on Sunday night.
However, the day after Johnson announced that she is expecting a child with wife Brittney Griner, the news about the latter filing for a divorce broke.
In a report from ESN on Friday, Griner admitted that she talked with Glory last Wednesday and the pair already agreed to separate, divorce or annul their marriage. Griner did not feel that their marriage was right and she had premonitions. She said, "In the week prior to the wedding, I attempted to postpone the wedding several times until I completed counseling, but I still went through with it. I now realize that was a mistake."
Johnson's agent, D.J. Fisher, said in a statement late Friday that the two-time Tulsa Shock All-Star was unaware of the filing and was "extremely hurt and blindsided." Fisher added that Johnson loves Griner very much that she sacrificed to carry a child for them.
"It has always been a dream of mine to start a family with someone I love," Johnson said in the article. "Being a professional athlete that plays year round, there is never a perfect time to get pregnant without putting my career on hold. The entire process, from learning our fertility options, to making sacrifices necessary nine months before the child is born, is merely preparing me to become a great wife and an even better mother."
The athlete, according to her agent, is asking for privacy.
In a report from TMZ, Griner denied any biological connection with Johnson's pregnancy and added that she doesn't know the details. She did not discuss her interest for parenting arrangement. She also revealed that she was forced to marry Johnson because she was pressured and threatened to which she did not specify.
The two got married last May 8 in Arizona, three weeks after both athletes were arrested for domestic violent charges, which led to their suspension in seven games.
