There's one more reason why people can't wait for 2017, Girl Scout Cookie Cereal! Now it's "socially acceptable" to have cookies for breakfast.

Instagram user @candyhunting first leaked information about these new glorious treats. Later on, a spokesman from General Mills has confirmed that in collaboration with the Girl Scouts of America, Girl Scout cookie cereals will be available next year.

Not much is known about the Girl Scout cookie cereal just that it will be available this coming cookie season January 2017. The Girl Scout cookie cereal will also come in two flavors, Thin Mints and Caramel Crunch. The Thin Mints flavor is based on the most popular Girl Scout cookie of the same name. The Caramel Crunch flavor is based on the Samoas.

The most important information about the Girl Scout cookie cereal is that it will be available for a LIMITED TIME only. So come cookie selling season, you'll not only be hoarding boxes of your favorite Girl Scout cookie flavor but also boxes of these Girl Scout cookie cereals. Part of the sales for the Girl Scout cookie cereal will benefit the Girl Scouts of America.

The Girl Scouts of America also recently announced that there would be new cookie flavors available next year. In a report by CNN Money, by selling online, the Girl Scouts of America has sold an additional ten million worth of cookies. Last year alone, the Girl Scouts was able to sell 2.5 million boxes of cookies online!

Unlike the rest of the cereal companies suffering a slump in sales, General Mills has prevented this by offering limited edition versions of their products.

The company is best known for its cereal, Cheerios. Last time, the company released for a limited time a Pumpkin Spice flavored Cheerios.
