Apple iOS Latest Update Deals with Crucial Security Issue; Bokeh Effect in iPhone 7 Plus

Following the discovery of a severe vulnerability in iOS 10.1-powered Apple devices, Apple released a very important update. This update is said to fix the discovered vulnerability that can make hackers access and manipulate user data.

According to Time, the security flaw in the latest Apple iOS 10.1 was discovered by Marco Grassi of Tencent's Keen Lab. Grassi discovered that if a user accidentally views a corrupted image in JPEG format, it will create a hole in the system. This hole is where the hacker can execute harmful code and silently victimize the device user.

There are many things that a hacker can do to an Apple device once he or she successfully gains access to executable code from the hole created by this corrupted image vulnerability. The possibilities include making changes to the device without the user's knowledge, gaining access to and exploiting personal and sensitive user information, and even a full-blown takeover of the person's entire account.

Once an Apple device is subjected to a suspected hacking attack, the user can proceed to the nearest Apple store or call the customer service number. The regaining of access involves answering security questions and verifying personally identifiable information. But even with this safeguard protocol, a hacker can swiftly change the information of the user and lock the user completely from his or her device.

Apart from this major security issue fix, Apple also incorporated a fascinating new feature for the cameras of the iPhone 7 Plus. This new portrait view blurs the background of the photo. Photography enthusiasts call this the bokeh effect.

Despite these recent security issues, Apple remains with a solid and strong fan base. Apart from the launch of the operating systems this month for iPhones and Apple watch, they are also heavily expanding their global presence through other initiatives.

Earlier this month, Apple launched iOS 10.1 and watch OS 3.1 and expanded the operations of Apple Pay by activating it in Japan. Apple also opened the first iOS Developer Academy in Naples, Italy.
