Things are heating up in the NBA 2016-17 season. However, NBA fans are surprised with the Golden State Warrior's loss in their first game. Are the Warriors doing okay? How's their shot for their next NBA title?
Golden State Warriors is the top contender for this NBA season, at least that's what most initially believe until they lost their first game against San Antonio Spurs. The Warriors fell short in snatching victory in their first game.
GSW is a crowd favorite in the NBA league but it seems that they are slowly losing their appeal to the crowd and their staying power on the basketball court even after Kevin Durant's arrival. Golden State Warriors have two of the top three NBA superstars today, KD and Stephen Curry. In addition, they have a number of NBA All-Star including Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala but this doesn't make things easier for the Warriors.
Golden State Warriors lost some of their key players in their desire to add Kevin Durant to their roster. Per Cleveland.com, GSW has to give up Andrew Bogut and Harrison Barnes for the former OKC Thunder player. The pair is the lowest scorers in the Warriors but Andrew Bogut provides incomparable rim protection and Harrison Barnes is a key player on the wing.
Obviously, the Warriors are still adjusting with their current lineup. With Kevin Durant's inclusion in GSW, a number of key players are gone. Although those ex-Warriors are not as sharpshooters as Klay Thompson or Stephen Curry they contribute in GSW's defense. Warriors fans are hoping that Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green could work together to lead the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs.
Meanwhile, GSW coach Steve Kerr admits that their roster is still in the adjustment period. "We are not clicking and everybody can see that," he said per Slam The GSW coach added that they will continue to compete as they pick up wins.
Is Kevin Durant's addition to Golden State Warriors helping the team? Or was it better for the Warriors to keep their old lineup? Will the Warriors make it to the NBA finals? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
