"Final Fantasy 15" will now see a rise in the heroines. The gameplay always had a problem with regard to its storytelling which was slightly bent towards white pretty boys who play protagonists. Now, it seems that the game's designers and leads are taking a pause and considering the fact that the series should have its focus on the heroines who made compelling characters in the past.
Though most of the depictions are rather sexualized in "Final Fantasy 15," we should not overlook the fact that there are women around, at least. The boy zone might be seeing a drift and we might find more strong women characters emerge in the game.
There are reports which suggest that Square Enix is now trying and making the female characters playable in the party. The gameplay of "Final Fantasy 15" is set up so that only the main protagonist Noctis is controllable by the player. Square Enix is considering DLC that will open up other members of the party to control. One of the billed co-protagonists of "Final Fantasy 15," Luna, may be unlocked in future DLC, reported SegmentNext.
The Square Enix DLC director, Haruyoshi Sawatari, acknowledged the fans' eagerness to play as Luna in "Final Fantasy 15." He said that the team was considering the possibility and they are trying their best to add in the feature which isn't very tough to implement, reported Twinfinite.
There is another female character in "Final Fantasy 15," who is featured heavily as a sexualized character who is not playable is Cindy. Cindy is a bikini-clad auto mechanic. Now, it should also be possible to play as her. The game's story takes place over at least 10 years. This will give enough time for the characters to evolve and there is no reason not to be able to play as other characters if it takes that long.
"Final Fantasy 15" is coming out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 29. It was initially supposed to be a September release. Though it is not a priority as yet, Square Enix did say they were considering a PC port. However, they haven't given much updates on the same.
