Why 'The Voice' Judge Alicia Keys Does Not Want Her Sons Watching 'Snow White' Disney Animated Classic

"The Voice" judge and Grammy-winning recording artist Alicia Keys puts her foot down when it comes to what her children can digest from media. The mother of two boys has apparently banned her kids from watching the Disney classic, "Snow White."

Alicia Keys admits that she doesn't like the message "Snow White" would impart to her young boys - Egypt, born in 2010, and Genesis, born in 2014. "It's totally sexist, misogynistic - she's cleaning for seven dwarfs," the 35-year-old mom told The Edit in an exclusive interview.

The "Girl on Fire" hitmaker said that women who prefer to stay home to raise a family did not make the wrong choice and it's a hard thing to do. Yet Keys has issues with the way it was portrayed on "Snow White" or among classic films in general.

Alicia Keys believes that she was destined to raise boys who would not grow up to be sexist. For this reason, the singer feels it would be wrong to let her boys watch "Snow White."

Apart from having Egypt and Genesis, Alicia Keys is also step mother to her husband Swizz Beatz' (Kasseem Dean) older kids with previous partners. Prince Nasir is a teenager while Kasseem Jr. and Nicole -- the only girl -- are 10 and 8 respectively.

As a mom of a blended family, Alicia Keys opened up about becoming friends with her husband's other kids first. Pettiness has no room in their big family. "There's a beautiful value about the way that we can all influence each other's lives," Alicia Keys said, according to BET.

Meanwhile, Alicia Keys expressed bewilderment over how much her first-born child has grown. But like most mothers, she longs for Egypt to keep his innocent view of the world far longer. She acknowledges that her boys have a good role model to look up to in their father, according to E! Online. Watch Alicia Keys talk about motherhood, kids and blended families in the video below.
