The "Lizzie McGuire" actress and former teen idol Hilary Duff opens up about her divorce in The Love Bomb podcast. She also shared her views on love, marriage and monogamy.

The 29-year-old actress, Hilary Duff, started her acting career when she was only twelve years old so most of her life have been in the public eye. This includes Duff's relationships. Her first serious relationship was with Joel Madden, frontman of Good Charlotte.

At that time, Hilary Duff was only sixteen years old. Just like any lovestruck teenager, Hillary Duff was completely preoccupied with Madden. However, Duff and Madden only lasted as a couple for three years.

After Madden, Hilary Duff fell for the hockey player Mike Comrie and eventually married him when she was twenty-two years old. Afterwards, the actress and "Sparks" singer decided to take a long break from her career because she felt unfulfilled. She added that her hiatus helped her straighten her priorities and step back from being "Hilary Duff."

Hilary Duff and Madden had a lovely child but after three years of marriage they divorced. However, there's no bad blood between them. For the actress, their marriage has been successful for a long time and their split was amicable, as reported by HelloGiggles.

She added that even though she is traditional she believes that not everyone is cut out for marriage. Hilary Duff explained that she understands being monogamous can be hard when you've been with someone for a long time but she pointed out that it's where "work" comes in. Duff believes that any relationship can be successful if the person makes it so.

Hilary Duff and her ex-husband Comrie had their divorce finalized this year, according to TMZ. They have joint custody of their three-year-old son. Even though they have already divorced, they are responsibly working together in raising their child.

The actress, Hilary Duff, is currently dating her personal trainer John Walsh. Hilary Duff is not planning to get married again but she's not entirely closing her doors either. For now Hilary Duff seems to be enjoying her life one step at a time.
