"The Elder Scrolls VI: Skyrim" has been subject to a lot of speculation on whether the game will be released or not. For a while, it did seem that Bethesda Game Studios is not too eager to start its work on the game. However, there are reports which have surfaced and shown that the game will definitely happen, much to the relief of the fans of the game. Bethesda's Todd Howard revealed that he played the Nintendo Switch at E3 and came away feeling very positive about the hybrid hardware.
"I love it. I got to play it. I will tell you--well, maybe that's an N.D.A. thing," he told Glixel. "One of the best demos I've ever seen. Probably the best demo I've ever seen. At E3." He also added that Nintendo's plan for the Switch is "really smart."
Todd Howard also said that Bethesda is definitely going to support the console. This, however, did not come as a surprise as Bethesda is among the dozens of partners for the console. It should be noted that Skyrim showed up in the Switch reveal trailer. "The Elder Scrolls VI: Skyrim" is yet to be confirmed for the console, but it seems likely that it will happen, reported Game Spot.
One of the unique elements of the Switch is that it's a console/mobile hybrid that you can play at home or on the go. He was questioned whether "The Elder Scrolls VI: Skyrim" can really be played on a portable device. "It's the same game on the TV and on the other screen," Howard teased, reported Polygon.
Howard confirmed that "The Elder Scrolls VI: Skyrim" is in the works, but stressed that, "It's not what you would call a big, active project right now. There are some other [projects] that we have going," he said. "We know [The Elder Scrolls is] important to our fans, and we need to be careful about setting expectations. It's certainly a game that we'll be making one day. I could sit here and explain to you exactly what we want it to be."
