The NBA latest trade rumors continue its stories in the Cleveland Cavaliers as they are still looking for a perfect backup point guard to help Kyrie Irving out. Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving had been hitting the nail for the Cavaliers since the start of the season but everyone knows that Irving can't carry the sacks alone. However, Cleveland Cavaliers had Deron Williams as their best deal in the market right now and would probably have him playing before this year ends.
Bleacher Sports reported that the official the date for the NBA trade season will start around December 15, which is not a problem for the Cleveland Cavaliers as they place as the King of the Eastern Conference. The Cleveland Cavaliers had been dominating this NBA season even without their backup guards like Matthew Dellavedova who was traded to Milwaukee and their rookie Kay Felder who was the Cavs last straw.
According to Sports 747, the rookie Kay Felder had only played 32 minutes in all these season games, averaging 3.3 points and 1.3 assists per game. The Cleveland Cavaliers have kept point guard Kyrie Irving's minutes to 33.8 per night and cutting the team mustard by letting LeBron James doing the primary ball-handler with bench lineups. This switch up allows LeBron James to average a career-high of 9.0 assists per night.
According to Cleveland, Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin is exploring ways to find Irving a backup ahead of February's deadline. "All indications are that the Cavs will try and go the trade route to get a backup to Kyrie Irving. This could happen around Dec. 15 when free agents signed over the summer can be traded. I'm just throwing a name out there and Dallas' Deron Williams is on that list. So is Orlando's D.J. Augustin," said Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Verdon last week.
Even though the Cleveland Cavaliers is still the best team in the Eastern Conference, everyone knows that their current strategy is not unbeatable, especially when they need to face the Golden State Warriors in the finals. They need the whole nine yard to beat the Warriors.
Do you think the Cleveland Cavaliers will have Deron Williams as their backup point guard before the NBA trade deadline?
