A man is being searched by authorities as they believe that he has something to do with the tragic death of a two-month-old baby boy. The man is the boyfriend of the dead infant's mother.
Chron said in a report that authorities from Freeport, Texas discovered the death on Tuesday evening. The man they are looking for was identified as Luther Antoine Jefferson. The baby was said to be injured then was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
Freeport Police Department said in a statement that they were not sure if Luther Antoine Jefferson is the real name of the man as they think it is just an alias. His supposed real name is unknown.
The man has no vehicle or other means of transportation so he might have asked people to help him flee the area. the man is said to be 27 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighs around 160 pounds. He has a lot of tattoos basically on his arms, hands and body.
KHOU also reported that the man was the one babysitting the baby when the infant was injured. The nature of the baby's wounds or the cause of death has not been released yet. Two more children were said to be under the care of the man but they were not harmed, the aunt of the man's girlfriend claimed.
Officials were said to be called at Villa Brazos apartment at around 7:15 P.M. about the two-month-old baby boy not breathing. It was not clear who made the 911 call and how long has the baby been injured before he was discovered.
There are three warrants for the man and one of which is Abandoning or Endangering a Child. Additional charges could be imposed as soon as the autopsy on the infant who died will be completed. Anyone with information is asked to call Freeport PD at 979-239-1211.
