Finnish brand Nokia is looking to make 2017 as the year where they will once again shake the competition. Leading the company is the D1C, which is also in the center of the rumor roundup from the time it was revealed. While the device had made its way to several benchmarking sites and some have said it to be a tablet, recent speculations prove that it is a Smartphone.
Reporting on this matter is GSM Arena, who said that the Nokia D1C will be offered in "two hardware versions". One is an entry level handheld with a 5inch, 1080p display screen, a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Cortex-A53 octa-core processor, Andreno 505 graphics card and 2GB of RAM. It will also have a 13megapixel rear camera and an 8megapixel front facing snapper plus Android 7.0 Nougat running the show on the inside.
The other version of the D1C, according to another source, will come with a 5.5inch display screen alongside 3GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core chip. In addition, the flagship is also rumored to tout a fingerprint scanner at the back and a 16megapixel rear snapper. Color variants include the traditional black, white and gold, it added.
Unless proven otherwise, all of these Nokia D1C what if's will remain to be as it is. The only legitimate detail so far is the company's decision to launch the D1C at the Mobile World Congress 2017. In early November, HMD Global announced that that Nokia will be participating in the event which is scheduled on February 27.
The Finnish firm likewise detailed its "investor-focused" agenda at ABB's Capital Markets Day event last October. There, Nokia revealed its plans for 2018, which included its return to the Smartphone market, "expanded VR leadership" and patent licensing for mobile, consumer electronics and automotive. 2019 meanwhile will see the company making strides in VR technology, digital health, and will continue its pursuit of growth and diversification.
