The "Rambo" film series is just another one of those classic action movies that are strongly associated with actor, Sylvester Stallone. However along with this announcement is the news that the 70-year old actor will not be part of the reboot. The film series which first came out in 1982 will reportedly have a new movie and TV version but with no Stallone in the picture so who could possibly replace him?
According to US Blasting News, the title of the fifth film of the series will be "Rambo: New Blood" and the director will be Ariel Vromen and the writer will be Brooks McLaren. There are also rumors that Fox will come up with a TV series for "Rambo" soon and the directors will be Jeb Stuart and Avi Lerner.
Meanwhile a report from Screen Rant names several actors who can take on the role of John Rambo. Some of the actors in the list include Jake Gyllenhaal from "Nightcrawler" Ryan Gosling of "The Place Beyond The Pines," and Tom Hardy of "The Revenant."
Other actors that can easily be the new John Rambo are Casey Affleck, Joel Edgerton, Anthony Mackie, Scott Eastwood, and Karl Urban. Another choice for this role is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Nevertheless, the new cast and creators of the new "Rambo" series will have a huge challenge on their shoulders. The record of the four "Rambo" films are surely not that easy to beat since combined earnings of all the four "Rambo Films" that were released from 1982 to 2008 reached more than $727 million worldwide.
