Days before Mother's Day, a mom and her three kids were brutally attacked by a pack of dogs outside a Georgia middle school.

Mom, Her Children Attacked Aggressive Dog at Bus Stop

The circumstances happened as they waited at a bus stop behind Brooks County Middle School in Quitman. Courtney Williams, 35, was tragically found dead in a nearby yard.

Responding deputies encountered several aggressive dogs on the scene. Williams' children sustained injuries and were swiftly taken to the hospital, with her son bravely intervening to protect his sister from harm, according to family reports.

Graphic images shared on social media revealed the extent of the boy's injuries, while another son sought help from a passerby who aided in fighting off the dogs and getting them to safety.

Though the particular breed of the dogs remains ambiguous, homeowners had reportedly voiced concerns about the lack of animal control in the location.

The timing of the circumstances, just days before Mother's Day, compounded the disaster for the family and community. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is recently conducting an autopsy to make sure the official cause of Williams' demise.

Grandmom Dies After Being Attacked by Dogs

A woman had been mauled by aggressive dogs while visiting her grandson in Essex. Esther Martin, aged 68, passed away in Jaywick, near Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, on Saturday.

A 39-year-old man has been discharged on bail under doubt of dangerous dog offenses, and the two dogs involved have been euthanized.

According to Ms. Martin's daughter, Sonia Martin, the dogs were XL bully dogs, a breed prohibited under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. She recounted that there were also six puppies present at the property, and a circumstance happened when the dogs were battling.

However, police are awaiting verification of the breed from experts. Ms. Martin elucidated that her mom, who was visiting her 11-year-old grandson, had conveyed concerns about the aggressive nature of the dogs to their owners.

Ms. Martin characterized how her mom had been advised by the owner to intercede with a broom whenever the puppies fight each other, resulting in the tragic attack.

The suspect involved in the incident has a familial relationship with Ms. Martin, who was a grandmother of eight and a great-grandmother of three. Essex Police reported progress in the investigation, despite its complexities.

Ms. Martin recounted receiving the distressing news from a local police officer at her home in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Her nephew had sought help from neighbors to rescue his grandmother.

Witnesses described hearing screams and the subsequent police response, which resulted in the destruction of the dogs involved.

Esther Martin was described as someone who was rebuilding her life following the loss of another daughter two years prior. Her daughter lamented the tragic loss, mentioning her upcoming marriage and the absence of her mother.

Superintendent Glen Pavelin praised the bravery of the officers who responded to the incident and thanked the community for their assistance.

XL bully dogs are the biggest type of American bully dogs, described by their muscular physique and blocky heads. They are prohibited under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 in England and Wales, making their breeding, selling, or abandonment illegal.
