'Fast & Furious 8' Cast Update: Paul Walker's Teen Daughter Launches Foundation In Dad's Honor

The 16-year-old daughter of "Fast & Furious" star Paul Walker is keeping his memory alive by setting up a foundation in his honor. Meadow Walker, who is also remembering her father on his birthday this month, announced the launch of "Do Good" foundation on her Twitter account.

"Want to share a piece of my father w/ the world. https://bit.ly/mwpwfdn https://bit.ly/paulwalkerfdn @paulwalkerfdn #DoGood," Meadow wrote, providing the link to the foundation's website.

The Do Good Foundation will aim to provide grants and scholarships to researchers and students in the field of marine science, where Paul was once a student before he became a film star. "He fulfilled a lifelong dream as part of the crew in the National Geographic series great white / Shark Men led by Dr. Michael Domeier of the Marine Conservation Science Institute, where they tagged great white sharks to gather DNA samples," the website stated.

"Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions. His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill. I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world," said Meadow on Instagram. "I want to share that part of him with others. I am tremendously proud to be launching The #PaulWalkerFoundation (@paulwalkerfdn) on his birthday. I can't think of a better way to celebrate my father. #DoGood," the message added.

Paul, who would've turned 42 years old last Sept. 12, died in a tragic car crash last Nov. 2013. The actor reached stardom for his role as Brian O'Conner in the "Fast and Furious" franchise together with Vin Diesel. His unexpected death was mourned by millions. His last film, "Fast and Furious 7," where he appeared posthumously grossed $384 million at the box office, according to BBC.

On the day of his birthday, his family honored him with a small celebration. "I don't know anyone that loves the ocean as much as Paul did. It will always remind me of him. So, on his birthday, that's where I'll be," Paul's brother, Cody Walker, said via People Magazine.

Cody also initiated another foundation back in 2014 to honor his departed brother, according to CNN, when his small company sold t-shirts featuring Paul Walker for the Reach Out Worldwide charity. The proceeds of the sales went to Haiti, which Paul personally visited to help after the 2010 earthquake that hit the capital.
