'Criminal Minds' Season 11 Spoilers: Characters In Danger? Yes, Actor Says It's Going To Be A 'Crazy Arc'

Days prior to the premiere date of Criminal Minds Season 11, fans and followers of the TV show have been going through the Internet with a fine toothed comb in an effort to find clues and other potential plot hints which would help tide them over before the big day comes. Apart from the new additions in terms of characters in Criminal Minds Season 11, the TV series will also be welcoming storyline changes that would see the characters grow in their personal lives.

One of the most notable characters of Criminal Minds Season 11, who has been the subject of countless rumors and spoilers, is Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler). According to Erica Messer, the executive producer of the show, the upcoming season will provide Reid the chance to flex his muscles - that is, using the ultimate weapon he has in his arsenal: his brain. "He gets to do a take down Reid style, which is just using his brain with a physical thing that's really disturbing - you have to turn away," revealed Criminal Minds showrunner Erica Messer, according to Entertainment Weekly's Spoiler Room. Messer went on to share, "It's not a standoff with a gun, it's a Reid version of a takedown."

The rumor on Reid being involved in one of the main storylines in Criminal Minds Season 11 was confirmed by actor Gubler himself. "It's a crazy arc," shared the Criminal Minds star, referring to the plot twists that will see his character take the center stage this season, according to TV Line. He further noted, "It's exciting, spooky, team members might be in peril." Gubler went on to say, "Fun stuff as always!"

Meanwhile, the BAU will be welcoming a new member of the team this season. With the departure of Jennifer Love-Hewitt and absence of AJ Cook in the Criminal Minds cast, fans and followers of the show will be welcoming actress Aisha Tyler as Dr. Tara Lewis. At the moment, no specific storyline is revealed about Lewis but some netizens are speculating that the character might be the romantic interest Messer teased about Reid.

"Aisha is such a smart person that playing a really smart character (psychologist Dr. Tara Lewis) is obviously second nature to her," shared Messer via TV Line. This sentiment was echoed by Gubler, "Comedians make the best dramatic actors, and that's true for Aisha especially."

Criminal Minds Season 11 will hit the small screen on Sept. 23, 2015
