Fans of the well-loved character Jon Snow were broken hearted when "Game of Thrones" season 5 ended. Since then, many were anxious what lies ahead for the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. Despite the production team's confirmation that the character is dead, fans were hoping that just like the other characters who resurrected, Snow will do so.
In an earlier report from Parent Herald, actor Kit Harington a.k.a. Jon Snow was spotted in Belfast again and this time, he is participating in the shooting, which suggests that the character will still be seen in the new season.
The report suggests that the scene where the actor was spotted involves a massive battle in Saintfield, Northern Ireland, and it was for the upcoming season's ninth episode. The battle involves several other characters like the northern armies, the Umbers, the Bolton, wildings and more.
Well, it looks like the crowd's favorite character isn't gone yet and for sure this news will bring delight to his fans who were hoping to see more of him in "Game of Thrones" season 6 and beyond. Harington was interviewed in a Belgian magazine Humo, where the actor spilled some critical information on his status in the show, according to a post on Reddit.
The post suggests that the actor is still in contract, as Harington said: "The important thing is that I now know exactly how long I am still under contract, and in the meantime -." The interviewer tried to get more details from the actor by asking how many more seasons would it be. However, Harington was fast enough to stop himself from speaking more.
"Nice try (laughs). I can't talk about that. Let's just say that Game of Thrones will remain a part of my life for a while, I'll probably be in my thirties when it's over. One thing's for sure: the day I'm no longer on Thrones is the day I'll bury myself in movie projects (laughs)," Harington said.
According to The Independent, Kit is just 28 and if he is staying in the show in his thirties then, it is certain that he will be sticking around in the show for several more seasons. That means his character will be filming beyond funeral scenes or a couple of flashbacks.
The Hollywood Reporter reported earlier that HBO has renegotiated their star's contract with a tiered system factor for a potential seventh season. The negotiation offers huge raises for the cast members making them among the highest-paid actors on cable TV and an option for season seven. Harington is among the actors in the "A" tier with Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
"Game of Thrones" season 6 will return in Spring 2016.
