Eva Longoria's Baby Wears A Mini Jersey To Show Support For Mexico In World Cup

Eva Longoria is already grooming baby son Santiago Enrique Baston to be a soccer fan by dressing him up in a jersey printed with her favorite team in the 2018 World Cup.

Team Mexico

The new mom took to Instagram and shared an adorable photo of her son wearing a green soccer jersey. The words "Soy Mexico," the number 8, and the baby's nickname Santi are printed on the back. The baby is seen snuggling to a man who appears to be his father, Longoria's husband Jose "Pepe" Baston. The businessman also has on the same green jersey to match his son.

"Look who 's ready for #Mexico game! #WorldCup," the actress captioned the image.

Longoria's post has since received 551,000 likes and over 4,000 comments since she shared the photo on June 23. Fans gushed over the adorable shot, including former professional soccer player David Beckham.

"OMG best picture ever. I'm so happy for you guys. What an amazing picture and a proud moment," Beckham gushed.

Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin called baby Santi a "beauty" while other fans expressed their happiness for Longoria and Baston.

"So happy for U. U deserve the best Eva. A good husband and a beautiful baby," wrote one fan.

"Adorable Santiago. Congratulations," commented another. Fortunately for Longoria, Santi, and Baston, they cheered on the right team at the World Cup match between Mexico and South Korea. Their team won 2-1.

Santiago's Birth

The Desperate Housewives alum welcomed her first child with Baston on June 19. HOLA! USA broke the news of the baby's arrival with a front page cover of Longoria cradling her newborn son to her chest. The Overboard actress later took to Instagram to share the wonderful news herself and thank her fans for their well-wishes.

"Thank you everyone for showering my baby boy with all your warm wishes," Longoria captioned the same photo printed by the publication.

In the same post, the actress also talked about the families being torn apart in the U.S.-Mexico border. Longoria expressed grief at the children being separated from their parents because of the migrant crisis going on under President Donald Trump's strict immigration policy.

Reflecting on her son's arrival, Longoria said that she cannot bear the thought of Santiago being taken from her arms. The Telenovela star iterated that families belong together and asked for support to help reunite them. She asked that donations be given to RAICES Texas to help provide legal services for separated families.
