Arie Luyendyk Jr. Says His Fiancée Lauren Burnham Has A 'Bun In The Oven'

Arie Luyendyk Jr. may have baby fever months before his anticipated wedding to Lauren Burnham because he once again jokes that his fiancée is pregnant with his child.

Baby Fever

The race car driver took to social media on Sunday to once again make a pregnancy joke, just as he did in April. Luyendyk Jr. shared a video on his Instagram Story while baking. The clip shows a loaf of bread inside the oven.

"Got a bun in the oven...too soon? JK," Luyendyk Jr. captioned the video along with a smiling emoji.

It is unclear why The Bachelor winner thought to poke fun at the topic of pregnancy when he came under fire for a previous joke on the matter. Perhaps he cannot wait to have a baby with Burnham.

After all, they are already making plans for their anticipated wedding in Maui, Hawaii, in January 2019. The couple also has another reason to want to start a family soon. They just bought a house together. The only thing that would complete the family is a baby.

Pregnancy Joke

However, this is not the first time that Luyendyk Jr. joked about Burnham being pregnant. He also pulled a similar prank on April Fool's Day. He tweeted a photo of the 28-year-old Burnham looking pregnant. She is cradling a fake baby bump.

"Secrets finally out, we have a bunny in the oven!" Luyendyk Jr. captioned the snap and tagged Burnham in the post.

Messages of well-wishes and congratulations initially flooded Luyendyk Jr.'s tweet shortly after he made the announcement. However, he commented that it was all an April Fool's joke.

People chastised the 36-year-old reality TV star for making a joke out of a serious topic. Some called him insensitive to the feelings of those struggling to get pregnant.

"That is THE worst thing to joke about when so many people are unable to conceive or have miscarried," one person wrote.

"You should be ashamed of yourself! If you guys should suffer from infertility like myself and so many others I hope you remember this day that you joked about it!" another commented.

Luyendyk Jr. issued an apology thereafter and expressed his sympathies for those women with infertility issues. He said that he did not mean to offend them with his April Fool's prank.

It is unclear if Luyendyk Jr.'s pregnancy post is really just a joke this time around. Perhaps Burnham is indeed pregnant, and he is sharing the news in the most discreet way possible.
