Fans of the Marvel superhero flicks "The Avengers" have yet to see Loki and Scarlet Witch on screen together. For those who want to see them in a film together, Tom Hiddleton and Elizabeth Olsen will star in the upcoming Hank Williams biopic "I Saw the Light."
"I Saw the Light" made its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. On the said event, the lead stars Olsen and Hiddleton sat down in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Since both actors are very popular in their Marvel, superhero characters, the discussion turned from the legendary Hank Williams to Scarlet Witch and Loki's yet to be seen battle.
When asked who between the two characters will win should they have a face-off, Olsen bet on her character. "I think Scarlet Witch would win—she's one of the most powerful people in the universe," she said. "I Saw the Light," writer-director Marc Abraham also bets for Scarlet Witch.
Hiddleston on the other hand, believes that Loki is superior. Initially, the actor noted Olsen's character by saying, "The thing is, you're dealing with someone who's a witch, which is admittedly impressive biographically."
"But you put that up against a god, I'm just not sure that there's a fair contest," he said of Loki. "He's an immortal being, so my chips are firmly in Loki's corner."
Speaking of "I Saw the Light," Hiddleton will be playing the legendary country singer-songwriter Hank Williams, while Olsen plays Audrey Mae Williams, Hank's first wife.
According to Business Insider, Audrey is strong-centered but at a certain point she becomes fed-up with her popular husband's infidelity and hard drinking habits that the couple ended up in divorce. Williams will eventually die tragically at a young age of 29.
Audrey aspires to be a country singer like her husband. She performs duets with Hank on the early stages of his career. However, as Hank's popularity rise, he is finding it difficult to defend his wife who belt out the songs in a high-pitched wail. Audrey was eventually advised that she cannot continue to perform alongside her husband.
Olsen admitted that singing badly on purpose was a lot of fun. "It was very freeing," the actress revealed. "[Tom] is trying to sound like someone so iconic, I'm trying to sound like someone who it's even hard to find sound clippings of."
Olsen explained that Audrey sings well in the household and people in general would find her performance okay. However, when she sings in the industry, in front of the people with musical ear it's like "She's never going to be successful."
"I Saw the Light" will hit the big screens on Nov.27.
