3 Fun Kid Costume Ideas for This Halloween

There are few holidays that children look forward to more than Halloween. This annual holiday has a rich history, originating from a 2000-year-old Celtic tradition. But this isn't what most kids are interested in; they prefer the part where they get to dress up in costumes and go trick-or-treating.

However, after celebrating a few dozen Halloweens, it can be hard to come up with new, creative costume ideas, especially for your children. If you want your kids to look (and feel) great this Halloween, be sure to take a trip to your local costume shop and look for these get-ups.

1 - Dinosaur

If you've ever taken your children to a museum, they most likely ran straight to the dinosaur exhibits. This is because kids are absolutely enthralled by dinosaurs. Why not integrate their love of all things Jurassic into their Halloween costumes?

You can find pre-made dinosaur costumes in stores or you can spend some time with your child by making the costume together.

However, you don't want your kid to get cold while they are trekking from door-to-door. There are several ways that you can make sure your child is warm and if you want to ensure that they are comfortable while trick-or-treating, you should purchase the best thermal socks money can buy. These socks are made out of a high-quality material that absorbs the moisture away from your children's feet.

2 - T.V. Show or Book Character

If your child can't get enough of a particular show, feel free to dress them up as their favorite character. This is a fun way to get their creative juices flowing.

Is your child more of a reader? You can also base the costume off of a character from their favorite book.

These costumes are occasionally available in stores, but it's more enjoyable to put the costume together with your child.

While you're piecing together the outfit, you should try to add some thermal clothing into the mix. If you want to be subtle, you can tuck some thermal glove liners into your child's gloves or mittens. These innovative garments will keep your little one's hands warm this Halloween, even in frigid temperatures.

3 - Significant Historical Figure

Whether it's Martin Luther King Jr., Terry Fox or anyone in between, you can never go wrong with a costume based off of a historical figure.

Not only will these costumes make your kids look awesome, but they also create an opportunity for a learning experience, as it could potentially inspire them (and their friends) to learn more about the individual.

As you're putting the finishing touches on your child's costume, you should think of ways that you can integrate thermal clothing into the outfit. Garments like thermal hats and pants can be added to practically any get-up you can think of.

Before going into the attic and digging out your kid's costume from last year, you should consider trying some of these great costume suggestions this Halloween!
