'Vampire Diaries' Season 6 Cast Update: Ian Somerhalder's Twitter Hacked; Will He Leave To Play 'Fifty Shades Darker's' Jack Hyde? [Rumors]

There is no doubt that what "The Vampire Diaries" fans love in the series is the romance between Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) that shows a very classic love story. The type of love that promises forever.

Unfortunately, Dobrev had already left the show. In an earlier report from Parent Heald, Dobrev announced her departure in her acceptance speech after winning the Choice TV Actress Sci-Fi/Fantasy Award at the Teen Choice Awards.

"But change is necessary—necessary for you to grow and and to learn and to better yourself, because everything in life comes to an end.. because just like Elena, I started the show as a young girl, and together we grew up. We've grown up, and over the last six years, we've become women," said Dobrev.

Fans of the "The Vampire Diaries" series will eventually weep with the new reports coming up suggesting that Somerhalder is also considering on leaving the show to pursue other opportunities. According to CelebDirtyLaundry, it was Somerhalder's wife Nikki Reed who is very desperate to distant her husband from Nina Dobrev's stigma.

The report suggests that Nikki is pushing Ian towards a movie career. In fact, she wanted Ian to quit "The Vampire Diaries" to end any associations with ex-girlfriend Dobrev. Ian and Nina, the lead actors in the popular vampire series, dated for several years until Nina decided to dumped Ian.

According to the report, Nikki won't forget the past between her husband and Dobrev that's why she wanted Somerhalder to distance from anything that could associate him to Dobrev. She knows that until such time Ian will be viewed as "Nina Dobrev's ex" and not "Nikki Reed's husband."

There are speculations that Ian will be playing the role of Jack Hyde in "Fifty Shades Darker." However, the actor remains mum about the casting rumor, which ensures him of at least 2 films.

On the other hand, Design & Trend believes that the actor is not interested in leaving "The Vampire Diaries" at the moment because the new season will focus on the relationship of Damon and his on-screen brother Paul Wesley's Stefan. Moreover, it will highlight Damon's struggles and pain as he continues to live after Elena left him.

On a separate report, Somerhalder's Twitter account was hacked on Tuesday around 9:45 p.m. E! Online has learned. The hacker had several tweets for about 20 minutes before posting "I am sorry" and deleting the tweets. One tweet professed love for Nina and in another tweet the hacker was asking help to reach the actor.

When the account was seized, the hacker posted "who even is ian somerhalder." The hacker identified himself/herself as @clou9nin3; the account was deactivated before Wednesday.
