Fans of the historical fiction action-adventure open world stealth video game "Assassin's Creed" have something to look forward to in its upcoming series "Assassin's Creed Syndicate." The new title, which is scheduled to be released next month, has prepared a lot of surprises for its gamers.
Last month, Ubisoft treats their fans by including the popular naturalist Charles Darwin and the equally famous writer Charles Dickens in the gameplay. However, the excitement and fun doesn't stop there as Ubisoft announced that one of its first DLC missions will feature the Whitechapel Murderer, Jack the Ripper, ComingSoon.net reports.
Jack the Ripper was a serial killer who made headlines after murdering five women in the East End of London in 1888. All his victims were prostitutes who lived in the slums of Victorian Whitechapel. His terror lasted for 12 weeks from the end of August that year until the second week of November.
He used a long, sharp knife to slit the woman's throat. Most victims were disemboweled and mutilated. Jack the Ripper's age, nationality and profession remains unknown until today, Telegraph reports. In fact, until today there is a growing list of men who were believed to be The Ripper.
The latest addition to the list is Francis Spurzheim Craig. According to Express, Craig is a journalist who suffered from schizo-typal personality disorder and his knowledge of how the police operate enabled him to get away with his crimes. He was subject to embarrassment after his wife secretly returns to prostitution, few months after they get married.
In the game, the player will play as Jacob Frye, assassin born and bred to take over the criminal underworld in London. He will work in the shadows and climb to the top of the criminal underground to lead the most notorious street gangs, ComingSoon.net has learned.
Ubisoft said that players "will join forces with Inspector Frederick Abberline of Scotland Yard to hunt down Jack the Ripper in a deadly game of cat and mouse with the infamous serial killer," IGN reports. The "Jack the Ripper" campaigns will be available on its own or may be included in a Season Pass, which also includes "The Last Maharaja" that comes with 10 new missions.
Also in the game's season pass are A Long Night mission where Jacob has to track down an endangered fellow gang member and take him back to the hideout, Streets of London gameplay pack, two top-tier sets of gear and weapons, and Exclusive XP boosts, according to VG 4/7.
"Assassin's Creed Syndicate" will launch on Xbox One and PS4 on Oct. 23. For gamers with PC, the wait will be longer as it will only be available for the said platform on Nov. 19.
