Discrimination in America
Every year, hundreds of African American children report discrimination and acts of racism that are often left unnoticed, and the media and police are not giving it much attention.
In America, African Americans are more likely to be arrested for offenses that not heavy, while white Americans only get a slap on the wrist. Because of this, there is a disproportionate number of the prison populations. African Americans also have a higher chance of getting shot by the police than white people.
The movement Black Lives Matter has been calling for justice against unfair police treatment, discrimination, and police brutality for years since 2013. And every year, they hold marches asking for equality and the fundamental reordering of society wherein people of color, especially black people, are free from any systematic dehumanization. The impact of the movement on the legal and political landscape is undeniable and with continuous support, they can achieve their ultimate goal.
