This awesome mom just made it up to the "Mom Of The Year" award and made her son the happiest child in the whole world.
Maddox, 2 years old, was born with spina bifida and had 17 surgeries since he was born. Maddox is tube-fed because of his epilepsy. However, this is not the only thing that had Maddox's mom, Samantha Duran, worried and fearful for life, but it's his cyst that has been forming on his spine that could damage his brain stem and could end his life.
Samantha posted a video on Facebook where she explained Maddox's case. She went on talking about last April and how they got the worst news of their life that has been going around with tons of emotions and feelings for her and her whole family. They were told that the cyst that was continuously growing in Maddox's spine can breach his brain stem and can possibly take away his life in a second. Samantha also shared that they feel devastated about the news.
One thing that crossed her mind was she will never get to do a "mom and son" dance with him at his wedding because they are now unsure if that time will still happen. So, Samantha bought a nice dress and got Maddox a cute little three-set suit that includes a vest and a bow tie. After that, they had their mother-and-son dance, and according to Samantha, is was the best 2 minutes of her entire life.
Her short video became viral on social media and she was then featured to the television show "Good Morning America". She further shared the whole story on the show and described how Maddox is such an amazing baby. She also said that falling in love with Maddox would not be hard because the boy is incredibly sweet and genuine. Samantha also shared how Maddox is nosy and how he loves to cuddle and steal someone's sunglasses. Maddox really is the cutest little thing ever.
Samantha and Maddox's video touched many hearts on different social media platforms. According to Samantha, the family is "all about making memories" with Maddox and she felt all the love and support from the people who watched her video. She also received messages from them that inspired others to value family and their loved ones as well.
As of now, Samantha and her family are still bravely facing the future and to whatever will happen to Maddox. According to Maddox's doctor after his recent surgery, Samantha and her husband were told that it would be more difficult to move forward since the recovery is difficult on Maddox's body. Samantha also shared that Maddox's upcoming surgery could be his last. She and her husband have already made funeral arrangements so if the time comes, they don't have to worry about anything.
In the meantime, the family is trying to stay strong despite Maddox's fate already being written. They are letting him live his best life and continue making good and fun memories with him. Even though Maddox can't speak, Samantha makes sure that their communication is still in top shape.
In the mother-and-son dance video that Samantha and Maddox made, Samantha chose the song from the Disney movie titled "Coco" because she finds the lyrics relatable and the movie was one of Maddox's favorites.
