'Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice' Trailer & Plot: Cast Jesse Eisenberg Says Film Will Have A Deeper Tone, Smarter Themes

Movie fans excited for the release of "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" in 2016 should expect an intellectual theme and tone when they go see the movie. According to one of its stars, the latest superhero story from DC comics will address really serious stuff.

Jessie Eisenberg, who plays the villain Lex Luthor in the film, said "Batman V Superman" will be "addressing geopolitics in this movie and not in a way that's pretentious or esoteric," according to Observer. Jessie hints that even as the movie is filled with action sequences, important issues will also be tackled. The actor praised the movie's writer, Chris Terrio, for doing an excellent job with the material, as Terrio turned the superhero elements of the comic books into "really sophisticated, philosophical themes in a much smarter, different way."

The actor also considers his role as the most adventurous role he has ever done to date. "In a lot of ways Luthor is more of a stretch than any character you would do in an independent movie, which is normally the place you stretch. So in that way it was not at all compromised," he added further, according to Coming Soon.

Meanwhile, another cast member hinted that the theme and tone of "Batman V Superman" will be totally different from the way the public has come to understand the superheroes in previous movies. Jeremy Irons spoke to Toronto Sun about his role in particular. The actor plays Bruce Wayne's butler, Alfred.

"Zack Snyder, the director, wanted to create a completely different Alfred. So I felt I didn't have to carry any baggage from previous ones. It's sort of a reincarnation if you'd like. I had a feeling I was creating my own Alfred, more of a man who can actually do anything if he has to."

DC Entertainment's President, Diane Nelson, also spoke about theme and tone of this upcoming movie. "We have to be really sensitive to making sure were not creating any stories that don't feel like they're ready to be told... We have to make sure we're getting the right story and the right content from the talent we work with. Ultimately we think if it's a great story people will go out to see it," said Nelson, according to Variety.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" comes to theaters on March 25, 2016. The film is headed by Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, and also stars Gal Gadot, Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne.
