The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has always been vocal about how they think their children should be raised. Even though they are part of the royal family and their eldest son, Prince George, is third in line for the throne, they do not want to be as traditional as possible and still want to be a regular family behind closed doors.
This was proven after Prince William and Kate Middleton took their children to Anmer Hall, which is their Sandringham home. Their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte were on their half-term break from school, and during the holidays they took their children, together with their youngest Prince Louis, to their Norfolk home for a brief vacation.
They went to a country retreat so that their children can be normal children for a day, without any royal duties and responsibilities to think of. One peculiar activity that Prince William and Kate Middleton made their children do is farming.
Prince William and Kate Middleton's hands-on parenting
The Duke of Cambridge talked to the supporters of the Welsh Rugby Charity Trust and he shared that he had been lambing with his children, they love them lambs and had been feeding them. He also shared that Prince George and Prince Louis love tractors and farming equipment.
The Duchess of Cambridge had farm visits too, as she went to a farm in Northern Ireland as part of her program "5 Big Questions on the Under Fives." Duchess Kate has talked about the importance of spending time outdoors and its benefits for childhood development, and that she lets her children go out and explore as much as possible.
Now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are back in London as Prince George and Princess Charlotte resumed school. Prince William and Kate Middleton resumed their royal engagements as they took a short tour of Ireland from March 3 to March 5, and on March 9 they will reunite with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as both Sussexes and Cambridges are to attend the Remembrance Day service at Westminster Abbey.
The Royal Parents
The fans of the royal family know that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a strict set of rules that their children need to follow, and the couple often talks about it too, especially after they expended their family after the arrival of Prince Louis.
According to Mirror UK, Prince William and Kate Middleton do not allow their children to attend events on school nights, even if their children really want to go. This was proven after the couple turned down Prince George and Princess Charlotte's request to watch a production of Mary Poppins.
The royal couple also limits the screen time of their children. A royal insider shared with US Weekly that "As two people who grew up without gadgets for entertainment themselves, William and Kate are firm believers in toys, outdoor play, and encouraging an active imagination. They're very much a normal family."
Louise Heren, a Norland Nanny expert told The Sun that the couple allows their children to play outside every day, and shows how important outdoor activities are too them, especially to the Duchess. Heren said "There will be lots and lots of outdoor play; that's the one thing you could say Norland is old-fashioned about. Loads of fresh air."
Although the royal family has the world's eyes on them, they make sure that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis can still be children.
