TikTok: Kim Kardashian, Reese Witherspoon, Other Celebs Using App with Kids

TikTok is one of the most popular social media applications nowadays, and as of February 2020, it has garnered 1 billion users from all over the world. Because of this current craze, numerous celebrities jumped on the bandwagon and created their own TikTok accounts, and uploading videos of their everyday lives and their children.

Celebrity TikTok accounts you can follow

There are numerous celebrities that you can follow on TikTok, and one of them is the Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon who gave TikTok a shot after her son, Deacon, taught her how to do it. Her first attempt was in September 2019 with the caption "@deaconphilippe tries to teach me how to TikTok," and posted a video of her and her son. She then added, "I think I nailed it."

After five months, the Big Little Lies actress learned about dapping and dabbing and posted it on her account with the caption "Thank you for teaching me about TikTok, it's been so much fun."

In September 2019, Witherspoon told Ellen DeGeneres "I get distracted a lot because I see cute dogs, and I'm like, 'Oh, I've got to pull over!' I will literally pull over and get out of the car if it's a bulldog. Only a bulldog. I'm very preferential to certain breeds ... if it's being walked by somebody and it's really cute. There's probably a lot of pictures in the world of me on the side of the road with dogs." You can follow Reese Witherspoon's account @officialreesetiktok.

Another celebrity mom who is in on the ride is Friends star, Courtney Cox. Cox and her 15-year-old daughter Coco Arquette danced together and posted the video on her daughter's account and she captioned "Wanna see your child lose their patience? Do a TikTok with them." The actress can be seen playfully dragging her daughter out of the frame while grooving to the song "Skinny Lil B Word."

There are numerous celebrities on the application that you can follow such as Cardi B, The Jonas Brothers, Post Malone, Britney Spears, Meghan Trainor, Kesha and more.

The TikTok Craze

Since its launch in 2018, TikTok slowly garnered popularity and is now available in 154 countries worldwide. It is an application that features so many funny and entertaining videos. They include teenagers dancing, singing or sharing comedic experiences. The videos on TikTok allows you to upload videos with 15 seconds in length.

On February 20, TikTok announced that they launched the parental control in the UK in order to minimize the time that teenagers spend on the application. This Family Safety Mode can be activated if the parent opens his or her own TikTok account and link it to their child's account.

This feature can allow parents to filter the people that their children talk to on the application, they can make adjustments so that their child can only talk to their friends and not strangers. They can also limit their child's screen time, from 40 minutes to 120 minutes a day. They can also block content that is deemed inappropriate and report it.

Although this feature is only available in the UK in the meantime, TikTok is working on making this feature available worldwide.
