Kevin Hart Got Into A Car Accident

Hart got into an accident in 2019. The 40-year-old actor told "Men's Health" in an interview how he got injured. He said he was grateful for being "resurrected" because he felt that a part of him has already died in the accident. The new version of him was born to understand and to do better. He said that sometimes some things are hard to understand, but once the light bulb turns on, then that is the time you get what they mean.

Hart almost died when he got into a car accident after midnight on September 1, 2019. Kevin Hart's 1970 Plymouth Barracuda got crushed after flipping off an embankment. Jack Black, who starred with Hart in the two "Jumanji" movies, said that he remembers seeing the photos of the car crash, and he could not help but think of the worst possible scenario. He just prayed that Hart would still be able to walk once he gets healed.

Kevin Hart Fractured His Spinal Column

Kevin Hart fractured three parts of his spinal column. The surgeon told Black that if Hart's fractures were a quarter centimeter in one direction, he could have been paralyzed. Upon hearing of the sad news, Black just thought that Hart has to take a year off to regain his health, even though Black knows that Hart is not that kind of person.

Ron "Boss" Everline, Hart's longtime personal trainer, recalled visiting Hart "right away" upon hearing the news. He said that it was tough for him to see his friend in that state. Even though Hart could not move an inch during that time, Everline noted that he was glad that his friend survived the accident.

Kevin Hart Recovers From the Car Accident

Hart was very hopeful. Days after the accident, he and Everline were already formulating an action plan for the actor's comeback. Given the support he got from his trainer, family, and friends, Hart was able to bounce back slowly.

Parrish said that Hart did not allow his injury to defeat him. Because he has a go-getter mentality, Parrish was sure that her husband of four years would surely recover fast. He underwent therapy, and slowly but surely, physical improvement came.

Everyone close to Hart was not shocked by his progress. His good friend and costar in "Jumanji", Dwayne Johnson, said that Hart was in tremendous shape even before he got into the accident. He added that Hart's body composition and muscle memory are all working in his favor.

Hart and Parrish share their first child, Kenzo, which was born in 2017. And Hart has two other children, Heaven, 15, and Hendrix, 12, from his previous wife Torrei Hart. Parrish and Hart got married in 2016.
