Toymaker Mattel is introducing their newest collection, which is called #ThankYouHeroes, to help honor the frontliners who are sacrificing their lives just to fight the coronavirus.
Sixteen collectible action figures representing four each of doctors, nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians, and delivery drivers are now available for pre-order online. The four figures are to represent different genders and skin tones.
Main Goal of the New Collection
The Senior Vice President of Fisher-Price and Mattel's Global Head of Infant and Preschool, Chuck Scothon said that they are hoping that these Fisher-Price toys would ultimately make the difficult times easier for both adults and children, whether the toys are to be given as a gift to show the frontliners that they are highly appreciated or they could be a tool for children to open up about how they are feeling with the lockdown that is happening right now.
The toy company Fisher-Price is going to release a five-character Little People Community Champions set that is composed of the everyday heroes that do not always receive credits from all the hard work that they are doing, especially right now that all they want is to help stop the further spread of the coronavirus.
The five-character set comprises of a physician, nurse, Emergency Medical Technicians, delivery driver, and grocery store worker. The action figures can be pre-ordered for $20, $15 of which will go to the #FirstResponderFirst initiative starting on Wednesday through May 31.
New Collection Proceeds to Go to #FirstRespondersFirst
Proceeds from the new collections will be used to buy essential supplies, equipment, child care, food, accommodations, mental health support, and other resources that will be needed by the frontline medical health workers.
The Founder and CEO of Thrive Global, one of the organizations behind the #FirstRespondersFirst initiative, Arianna Huffington said that Mattel's iconic brands and products have sentimental value in most of us. She added that it is nice to see that the new collection that is released by Fisher-Price would not only bring happiness to children, but it could also let parents and caretakers show the health care first responders and everyday heroes and their families the honor of serving their countrymen.
Five hundred thousand face masks will be produced by the multinational company for the protection of the health care workers. Mattel also launched a free online resource that parents and caregivers can access to enjoy doing activities and content for their brands.
#FirstRespondersFirst also delivers access to online workshops, virtual training, coaching, and content. Their aim is to help improve the physical and mental well-being of the people focusing on sleep, nutrition, movement, stress management, and relationships with colleagues.
