"I Wonder What's Inside Your Butthole?" A Question and a Song from an 8-Year-Old

Kids are always full of curiosity. They ask the weirdest questions or wonder about some of the most unimaginable things. As parents, answering their questions sometimes becomes exhausting or difficult. At some point, you also start to wonder how to answer their question or what the actual answer is.

One of the kids with the weirdest questions is a girl, who is only eight years old, from Los Angeles. Her name is Jolee Dunn, daughter of Lisa Rieffel-Dunn. The question Jolee posed to her mom through a song was, "I wonder what's inside your butthole?"

Jolee was singing the song she wrote while struggling to play her mini guitar. Her mom, Lisa, filmed Jolee singing and posted it on Twitter.

The lyrics of the song do not only repeatedly ask about what's inside the butthole but also Jolee's guesses as to what is in it. A portion of the twenty-second song goes, "Maybe there is astronauts. Maybe there is aliens."

An instant hit online

After posting the video last May 2, it has garnered different reactions from Twitter users. In just three days, it already has more than seven million views, 81,400 retweets, and more than 350,000 likes.

Also, without even reaching a full week, the song has already been covered by artists like the folk duo, Radnor & Lee. The singers, Josh Radnor (more known as Ted Mosby) and Ben Lee, made an extended cover of the song. They were in different locations when they did the cover, but what made it more special is that they made a beautiful folk spin to the song.

There are also other independent artists who have uploaded their versions of the 20-second track.

Aside from the different versions of the song, Twitter users have also remixed the song.

In an interview with Buzzfeed News, the mother of Jolee shared that despite the popularity her little girl has been gaining, she seemed not to care unless the opinion about her song is from Doja Cat. Jolee keeps on asking her mom, "Did Doja Cat see it?" The American singer, rapper, and songwriter, who is Jolee's gauge of popularity, seemed to not have seen the video of Jolee yet.

The singer-songwriter in the making

Lisa shares that she thinks the song Jolee wrote that day was her way of stalling bedtime. "The one leg pushed up on the PJs are a telltale indicator that she's at the end of the line, way past bedtime, and really needs to sleep," Lisa said.

However, Lisa and her husband have always observed that their little girl is a performer. Jolee's mother also recalls that the 8-year-old lady is always very funny and loves making up songs with really good lyrics.

There was even this one time when Jolee sang the song, "I love my Mom," in front of her parents.

Right now, Jolee is learning to play the electric keyboard. So her next song will not probably leave us only wondering, "What's Inside Your Butthole," but more than that.
