Bryan Witt, a dad in Newport News, Virginia, unleashed his inner ballerina when he joined his 6-year-old daughter, Abigail Witt, to an adorable ballet performance.
A video posted on Facebook on May 13, the father and daughter tandem can be seen dancing to Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Little Swans" from the famous ballet performance, "Swan Lake." Abigail is wearing a pink tutu while Bryan is in his basketball shorts. The duo danced with gusto and enthusiasm as they execute highly pleasing dance moves.
Mommy is the Choreographer
Abigail's mother, Kristen, the duo's ballet choreography, said that their daughter has been taking ballet lessons via Zoom. She added that a week before Mother's Day, Abigail was to perform a freestyle ballet.
Kristen also said that her daughter was not prepared, so she did not do her supposed freestyle ballet. Afterward, Abigail became very upset and anxious to perform her dance the following week. Because of this, Kristen asked her daughter if she wanted help in choreographing her supposed freestyle dance so she will not feel pressured and put on the spot.
Since Kristen is a former competitive dancer herself, it is easy for her to choreograph a 45-second piece for Abigail to practice. However, over the days that Abigail was practicing, she would get upset and then cry, with her thoughts of messing her performance up. Because of this, Kristen started practicing with her daughter to boost her confidence.
Bryan, on the other hand, had also seen her daughter's ballet choreography a lot of times that he memorized it already. And with Abigail having zero confidence with her dance, Bryan stepped in and danced with her daughter. Abigail thought that it was awesome, and her father's efforts made her very happy.
Kristen was the one who took the adorable father and daughter ballet performance video and posted it on Facebook. She said that it was just so precious and could not help herself. When Bryan found out about it, he gave Kristen a look, as if saying, "do not dare." Kristen did not listen and just shrugged her husband's plea. Hence, the adorable video performance of a father and daughter dancing ballet together.
