The pandemic is bringing out both the best and the worst in families. Dads and grandpas are becoming more and more creative each day to make kids' homestay enjoyable.
It is undeniable that home quarantine is challenging every household not only to keep things in order but also to make sure that kids will have fun, stay active, and still be kids. No one wants kids to feel that the pandemic is limiting them. That is why two dads from the U.K. and a grandfather in Washington, D.C., took the challenge of being extra creative during this quarantine.
Grandpa builds a rollercoaster
Using cinder blocks, trash can, and wooden rods, a grandpa from Washington made a rollercoaster for his grandkid. He used a toy plastic car as the coaster car. Considering that all other forms of amusement are closed until an undetermined time, this cool grandpa thought of a way to keep his grandkid entertained.
The daughter of the grandpa uploaded videos of him and his grandkid, enjoying the newly built roller coaster.
The video has gone viral with more than five million views. People on the internet, even adults, are jealous of the grandkid. Well, it was not only because the kid has a roller coaster at the back of the house, but because he has such a supportive grandpa. Some Twitter users even wish they had a toy like what this kid has during this quarantine. Admittedly, this kid will be the coolest one in the block for having his roller coaster.
Dad crafts a pallet playground
Saving himself at least £900, Jamie Purchase proudly shared his creation of a pallet playground for his children. Instead of using £1200, he only spent a total of £300. He used a stack of old wood pallets, nailed it to the wall, and painted the structure. While building the playground, Jamie already had a vision and also wanted to make sure that he makes a safe place for his kids. The playground became a hit to Jamie's kids. Moreover, those who saw what Jamie built said that it is a very creative one and would try to do the same for their kids.
Dad makes arcade-style grabber game
Another dad joins the bandwagon of innovation as he created a version of their favorite arcade game, the grabber machine. Using a bin and the bathtub, Bradley O'Riordan kept his daughters entertained during the lockdown. In a TikTok video, Bradley is seen dipping his daughter in a tub full of toys. His other daughter is in front of the container, "controlling" the grabber.

In an article by the Metro, Bradley said that when he thought of the idea, his girlfriend Jade did not agree. Jade believes that punching a hole to a £60 trash bin was not worth it. However, Bradley still pushed through with his idea.
Those who watched the video liked the idea and thought that it is funny.
