On Wednesday, May 27, Instagram Influencer, Ashley Stock, shared the heartbreaking news that her three-year-old daughter died after battling with brain cancer.
Stevie was diagnosed with a rare tumor
A little over one month ago, doctors at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles diagnosed Stevie with DIPG, an aggressive and rare tumor with zero percent chances of survival.
Stock shared a photo and video clips of her daughter on her Instagram account and added a caption that says that Stevie took her final breathes in the arms of her parents on May 27 at 1:05 PM. She wrote that they had experienced many miracles and countless Godly moments that she would like to put into words when her heart finds the strength to do so.
For now, she is overwhelmed with relief that her daughter is at peace, but she is feeling crushed by intense pain that she could not put into words, Stock wrote. She added that they have complete faith that there is a greater purpose for the tragedy that happens in life, which is already unfolding through stories of renewed hope, but she said that having faith does not give you a "pain-free" card.
She also wrote that she does not know how to do it, but they will continue one day at a time held by God's grace, the support of loved ones, and the prayers of other people who became their friends.
Ashley Stock documented Stevie's journey
Stock was able to document Stevie's journey on social media with the support of her husband, Ben, and their two other children, Wesley, 10, and Sawyer, 7. The Stock family and their loved ones celebrated Stevie's third birthday on May 15.
The proud mama wrote a tribute to her daughter, saying that between the pains, Stevie smiles and giggles as she admires her glitter fingernails. She also said that the little girl would ask them for more surprises and blueberry muffins.
Stock also wrote that her daughter's verbal communication abilities declined each day, but she communicates with her eyes that are "holding wisdom" and knows far beyond her mom owns.
The Instagram influencer also wrote that Stevie does not know what is happening, but "she KNOWS what is happening." She also described her daughter as brave as hell, strong, and gracious.
She continued by saying that when her daughter is fully lucid, Stock will watch her give comfort and love generously to an aching soul near her, it is just like some part of her knows how much other people would cherish her sweet hug or slobbery kiss.
After being admitted to the hospital, Stevie's health issues became apparent to her parents because of her rapidly declining motor function. During that time, Stock shared that her daughter would go home comfortably to spend time with her family after meeting with dozens of top pediatric neurologists, neurosurgeons, and oncologists.
